Best Arguments for Bacon- KetoEndurance podcast
When our friend Stephanie Holbrook from KetoEndurance asked to have us on her podcast, we happily agreed because we always like talking with Stephanie. As beef producers, we were surprised to talk about pork--and provide the best arguments for bacon, no less! There are great pastured pork producers in the Savory Global Network and in our community. In fact, we find pastured, local pork so superior in nutrient profile and flavor to commercially available products, that we fill our freezer with Surprise Valley Grown bacon--and a whole heritage breed hog from our young neighbor. We discuss Barry Estabrook's book Pig Tales, how pigs impact the environment and can be part of a holistic grazing plan, and much more. If you haven't yet tried pastured, local pork, you are in for a treat! We render our own lard (which has amazing health benefits) and enjoy that our pork is grown only miles from our home and in our valley.Thank you to Stephanie for inviting us to be part of this conversation. Please check out our interview with Stephanie here, and the rest of the great content on her podcast![button1 size="small" width="standard" link="https://ketoendurance.podbean.com/e/podcast-52-save-the-planet-arguments-for-baconanswer-to-petas-question/" animate="none" color="default" color_custom="off" border_radius="0"] Check out the podcast [/button1]
Pastured Pork Recipes
- A great lard recipe can be found at TheThingsWellMake.com
- New to cooking pork roast? Nothing easier (and won't heat up the kitchen!) than Nom-Nom Paleo's Kalua Pig recipe in the Instantpot.
- Bacon wrapped anything is pretty great. Try bacon wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese!
